| Tamura Corporation now deals with a variety of products
from parts and components to systems and equipment, but its history goes
back to a radio shop in town. |

|
The story began in 1923 when Tokumatsu
Tamura, the founder of Tamura Corporation, witnessed an experimental radio
broadcast as a mechanical engineer. As Tokumatsu was strongly interested
in the industrial civilization and technological development in the U.S.
and had even been to the country to learn mechanical engineering, this broadcast
experiment inspired in him that "the age of radio is coming!" In
addition to his daily work, he started to study radio on his own, continued
experiments and research, and finally created a two-tube radio receiver.
Eventually in 1924, one year prior to the full-scale radio broadcasting
by the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK), he founded Tamura Radio Store, the
forerunner of Tamura Corporation. |

Radio receivers manufactured by Tokumatsu
became popular for their excellent performance, and his sales channels extended
to the entire city of Tokyo.
Furthermore, when he started the shop, and radio broadcasts had already began,
European and American radio receivers were also displayed in store, and the shop
became known for its dealership of cutting-edge equipment and was frequented
by many people including celebrities.
Inheriting the spirit of "contributing to society by producing excellent
products" promoted by Tokumatsu Tamura who went his own way of manufacturing
for more than 80 years since its establishment, Tamura Corporation is focusing
on research and development of technologies and products only the company can
realize. We are committed to becoming the real only one company based on unique
concepts and ideas. |
